warm liquid solace
applied straight shot
to a battered soul
weary under the oppression
man’s inhumanity
genocide
then suicide and a rising tide of blood
shed
more recently by innocents
as collateral damage
torturing women then children
the torturers are the “good guys”
supposedly
mad politicians contrive sedition
as a welcome addition to
the end of freedom
thus a clock is ticking it’s haunting rendition
